Ive read in a qmjhl forum that the rouyn noranda huskies will select a russian forward who is rank pretty high in the 2007 nhl draft. So no way cherepanov will leave the RSL but mayorov didnt played RSL this year and his right are own by kazan and he is not garantee to have quality ice time, so my guess is mayorov could be on his way to rouyn noranda next year

If this is true, then, please Montreal, select him at 12th or 22nd, wherever Timmins feel he'll be around.

If he will be selected doesn't mean he will go to CHL - dozens of young russian players were select, few decided to go.

not a chance he'll go, he's already signed a contract with the rich and succesful AK BARS team. why would he go all the way out of his way for free when he can be getting paid good money by staying put.

Like i said in the Qmjhl forum thread about import draft rouyn-noranda now own rimouski 15th pick they made a minor deal at the draft

now that makes sense. they swapped with halifax then traded that pick to rouyn. QMJHL site doesn't indicate that they traded halifax's pick, they make it look like they traded the same pick twice. it makes sense though now how they could trade two 1st rd euro picks. i've updated the order to reflect this.

Kazan like to have big name players on their team so its tough for younger players to get good ice time and they already have kiril petrov who his probably ahead on kazan depth chart...also maybe the nhl team that draft him will push hard for him to come over

do you know how much the best paid players in the CHL gets??

I think its just the same number for everyone whether ur a plug or a Patty Kane. Im not sure on this. But I know that even AJHL, Tier II junior players get paid, like 80 bucks or 100 bucks a week or something. CHL players could be like 1000 bucks a month, but Ill check for sure.

far fetched........CHL players get 50-70 dollars a week for themselves and ontop of that the billets (the families they stay with) get anywhere from 130-150......we billet a player and we get 150 a week for things like food and towards the bills....

I'm pretty sure you get bonuses based on performance. Stoddard of St. John's goes to my school and I remember people saying that he got like 80 bucks for an assist or something silly. Of course, people could just be pulling my leg, just speculation.

I believe the number actually varies from player to player.

Also, Tier II junior players are not paid at all or else they would lose their NCAA eligibility.

If that happens, im going to be a happy man. Hugo Carpentier, drafted by the Flames, will finally have a winger who is talented enough to support him offensively. The would be great for a team like Rouyn-Noranda to have a duo like Carpentier and Mayorov.
