TO :isles

Max Pacioretty (30% salary retained = 3.15$ million on the cap)

To :habs

Anthony Beauvillier
1st Round Pick 2018
The Isles have one if not the best offense in the league. They really don't need to add a guy like Pacioretty, especially with Beauvillier doing a real good job right now. What the Isles need is better D and better goaltending.

For MONTHS we have gone over the same Patches to LI comments.
Habs fans just ignore what they dislike hearing.
1 Isles are 2nd in nhl scoring
2.LW Lee had 34 goals last season, is on pace for 40+ this season.
3.LW Ladd has a ntc
4.LW Beau is playing his best hockey on the Barzal-Eberle line.
5.LW Bellows turns pro in Oct.

Bad trading partners. Also, NYI won't trade their 1st pick as it will most probably be a lottery pick.

Pacioretty is already on a friendly cap hit. I don't see why we would retain 30%
How about offering him and his friendly caphit to a team needing scoring ,a team that actually covets him?

Islanders are 2nd in the league in goals for and dead last for goals against. More scoring is not what they need, and left wing is their position of greatest depth. Pacioretty would be a nice luxury, but with far more pressing holes in the lineup to fill, the Islanders can't afford to give up the assets for him.

The only trade between the isles and habs that makes sense is pleky @50% for a 2nd+ some pick in the 5th round or later
This, on the other hand, would make sense for the Isles.

motreal fans who offer patches to the isles are both lazy and ignorant

they see the isles have 2 firsts and ignore that the Isles have 2 better left wings and Beauvillier is having just as good of a season as Patches at a mere fraction of the cost. how dumb can a fan be?

and no isles fans we dont need Plekanec we do not have the cap room you think we do

some islander fans are dumber than a pile of rocks because they dont read a cap schedule and understand how to read it.

you absolutely must look at the cap at least 4 years at a time, not right now we have serious cap issues

those of you who say we have kulemin coming off the books, so what we have Tavares Bailey Dehaan Eberle Barzal and Pulock to resign in the near future and we have ladd and clutterbuck cizikas and boychuck who no one will take.

putting a team together is complex and you have to look beyond the right now

how does Plekanec help us next year seph he doesnt, all he does is subtract assets.....even with him we dont win a title this year its stupid use of assets for zero return. not to single you out youre a great poster but you need to look beyond the immediate.

this team isnt good enough defensively to win anything this year, its a fact so why throw away valuable assets on a lost cause?

Plekanec make sense as they do seems to be looking for some defensive help. Maybe Jordie Benn too? Very friendly contract, could help them out in the playoff.
