You get a better goalie and save $1.25m per year until the new Murray deal. In the meantime, you get a return for Andersen. And now you have a goalie for the next decade to lead your dynasty.

And you do this because you can't keep Kadri and Kapanen on the payroll with the addition of all of these long-term contracts. It makes it tight, which is why it's nice to save money in the short-term, considering the alternative is getting less value for your players you can't keep
