Deserves its own thread, after giving it some thought.

Maybe sets a bad precedent, but Matty Ice is special IMO. I was sad to see him go and he’ll always be a Blue Jacket to me.

I guess one cool thing was another fan base got to experience up close what kind of player he was.

I hope he realized he had enough to get out before things got worse and he's able to find other ways for him to enjoy the game he clearly loves.

I appreciate the absolute lack of GAF by four Pens players. Cam gets a shot off surrounded by two guys and then Calvert has two open looks at it with the Pens players just standing around mostly.

Also can't forget his one-handed OT winner in Washington.

Loved watching Matty in Union Blue. I remember when we got our son (who is now 19) a Calvert jersey during his rookie (maybe sophomore?) season as that was the player he chose. Congrats on a great career!

Yep. Remember this one like yesterday. This was the series the Jackets should have won. Some could argue that they did not have enough to win the Cup in 2018, but they had enough to beat the SC winner. They didn't have Duchenne, etc., but think they may have been a better TEAM than the 2019 version, just not quite the same talent as 2019. Just didn't finish the deal. I have more heartburn over the series loss to Washington in 2018 than to Boston in 2019.

Thank you, congratulations and best wishes to Matty!

Matty Ice is definitely one of my favorite Jackets ever. Could not have embodied the team more. Given all the concussions and injuries I’m really glad he’s hanging them up.
