All aboard the Lane train! WooWoo
I mean look up previous winners of the trophy. There are many cases of winners overcoming family matters, personnel illnesses, injuries, bounce-back/late break out seasons seasons, career dedication, leadership, and a bunch of different ones such as Doug Jarvis for consecutive games played.Legitimate question: What is the criteria for voting if there's no illness, sad stories, or old people?
There isn't a set criteria obviously, but as the number of players increase in the NHL (up to 32 teams soon) there are going to be more injuries and illnesses so it's not surprising to see those players being nominated and awarded the Masterton more often than not.
