The kid was highly touted, but a concussion in his draft year scared teams off. He could be a good risk-reward candidate.
Brendan Miller was the one CHLer we brought in on an AHL deal from last year's group on defense, and while he was not spectacular in the ECHL, he was far above the others (Nicastro, Bell, etc.) we brought in (besides Holl and Kolomatis). Plus he did solid considering the crap Solar Bears team. Still unlikely to be brought back, but his potential was well worth it and we should continue to pick up younger guys on AHL deals instead of older guys.
Stanton is a good start, but as a LHD, the Leafs should look towards RH defensemen. As it stands right now, it looks like we will have 7 LH defensemen on the Marlies next year.
