Habs in general seem to have a history of bringing players back. Most recent ones that come to mind, Ryder, Bouillon (3 times actually), Brisebois, Corson, Richer, Darby, Schneider, Gingras Petrov, etc

No he left because we turned down his generous offer for a 2 year extension then got mega money on July 1st.

I never understood this signing. I liked Mark Streit when he played for the Habs at the time, but now do we need him? You need your other defensemans to play. I mean you brought in David Schlemko, Joe Morrow, Éric Gelinas, Jakub Jerabek and you have Brandon Davidson and Brett Lernout. I am still over the fence about that signing.
