Mario Fernandes(RUS) vs Brazilian RBs

Anyone else get a sense that he looks better than the RBs playing for Brazil?

You have Dani Alves who’s injured and getting old and then the Brazilians that are overloaded on the left side look thin on the right.

I don’t know why Brazil coaches always overlooked Fernandes who played in eurocups every year and to a point he was invited to play for Russia.

I think he might even move in a top 5 League this summer after the WC.

Maybe but it wouldn’t have made much difference.

Brazil should have called up Alex Sandro and have either him or Filip Luis play RB. They’d still be better than Danilo or Fagner.

Brazil also could have called up Fabinho.

Danilo is better than Fernandes. Not by very much though.

Mario Fernandes wasn't overlooked. He was called to the NT when he was still playing in Brazil, but he refused the call-up and it was never clear why he did it. After that, why would they keep calling him up? He's good, though.
