You want Marchand to get fined because he responded to people online who don't work for the league calling him a *****?

I think you might just hate Marchand.

Regular joe working gets mad at head office and uloads ....might get a talking too
Regular joe working gets mad at consumer and unloads.....fired.
Not saying Marchand deserves anything(but thanks for putting those words out there, and in my mouth).

people dont pay to watch regular joe at work. majpr networks don't broadcast regular joe at work. whens the last time you got into a fist fight at work or took a cross check to the back.

Then why compare this to a coach getting fined by the league for talking above the refs (employees of the league).

The analogy is more like this.

Regular Joe perceives slight by coworker, goes and yells at coworker, Boss reprimands employee for yelling at employee.
Regular Joe is at work, Consumer comes over randomly and starts making threats and swearing at him, regular Joe makes a joke back.

I honestly do not care, I just find it interesting.
Honestly Marchand, Tkachuk, Kassian.....these guys all make it seem more WWE then NHL.
As far as fines ect I really do not care, just making an observation.
Cops tend to get into fist fights and take hits to the back.....and they get regular network coverage...and they have been fired for conduct with the public.
Again though I really do not care.
