it's not just the Sharks and Barracuda affected, it's including the MLS Earthquakes as well......

And MiLB San Jose Giants. Lots of concerts and events at SAP Center, Flint Center (De Anza). NCAA basketball was scheduled for SAP Center coming up. Cirque du Soleil's AXEL had dates scheduled. Plus SJSU, Santa Clara University, Stanford University.

Conventions/events at San Jose CC, Santa Clara CC, etc.

(NFL 49ers would be impacted too if they played.)

And some mega churches.

The not-so-joke is that it shouldn't affect the Barracuda at all... their crowds don't pass the eye test.

However, knowing at least one medical issue going on in the Silicon Valley area, and knowing how this is spreading elsewhere, these measures are justified.

It's actually any gathering of 1,000 people or more - protests, church services, etc. so any gathering under 1,000 people is still ok in the County of Santa Clara. ...
So I've just gotta make sure to keep the headcount of my "Give Us Back Our Toilet Paper!" protest group under 1K ... Thanks! :soap:

With some teams sharing an NHL or NBA building I can't see how they don't and then pick it up when NHL does.
But the NHL pause & the NBA indefinite suspension of league play would open up game date options for their AHL co-tenants, while the other teams already have home dates booked. So why couldn't the AHL continue play (without fans in attendance) to benefit their development mission for the NHL?

Asked and answered...the NHL cited shared buildings as part of their reason for suspending season ,mainly because 2 players now have it in NBA...
