Should have gone with Gallant or even Guy Boucher IMO. They need an immediate 180° in chemistry and execution for quick results in the next season or two more than they need a stable 'head coach' 5 years from now.

I dislike the Leafs as much as any of you do but Craig Berube is gonna coach the Leafs to the cup. Its the last piece Leafs needed. Leafs have grit, stars, great keeper and now they added a fantastic coach. Sucks to admit it but its the hard truth.

He was in my tier two of coaches I wanted for the Sabres. Solid hire for the Leafs, but I think their issues are much deeper than coaching even though I do think Keefe was a problem.

Ya the PP sucked in the playoffs, but during season good for seventh, and last year good for second, but agree PP in playoffs was bad.

Time will tell but I think a coaching change wont fix the core issues with the team. Trev and co have a lot of roster work ahead of them this summer....

It happens throughout the season for some teams it is hope and heartbreak others it is dismal for one team jubilation.

Admittedly the last oh, 8 or so years have dulled my enjoyment of the regular season.

We'll see if Berube and a roster overhaul can change that.

Leafs need roster changes more than they need a new coach. If they run out the same team I doubt the results will be any different

However, if a coach wins the Cup they're less likely to get fired and move to another team, and if a Cup-winning coach does move to another team that might mean they aren't great and got fired.
