I'm one of the biggest Red Wings and Datsyuk fans but this is definitely Malkin for me. Especially if you're including playoffs where I think Malkin's resume is much much stronger than Datsyuk.

I consider Datsyuk just a little worse than Fedorov; thus if Malkin > Fedorov (and I'm sure many consider him better than Feds by now), then he's better than Datsyuk.

Datsyuk was one of the most exciting players of all time, but in terms of greatness, Malkin is definitely the better player.

Give me Datsyuk. The poll speaks volumes of how many fans understand hockey let alone play it. Malkin had 4 great seasons and 4 great playoff runs but he's rarely been as valuable as Datsyuk and certainly nowhere near as long.

Ummm....how is Malkin's career better than Fedorov? 4 seasons doesn't>>Fedorov on the whole.

Again, the value of a Fedorov or Datsyuk is simply higher than a Malkin.

I guess it's like comparing PK Subban to Duncan Keith. Where Keith is more valuable of a d-man.

Datsyuk played on some of the best teams ever and put up extremely disappointing numbers for a star player.

Malkin is too moody for my liking. He also benefited most of his career from not having to get Crosby's defensive matchups.

Malkin, but I really wanted to vote Datsyuk because he's one of my favorite players, ever. I think he watching Datsyuk play had more highlight moments, with some unbelievable plays, but beast mode Malkin is no joke.

Malkin has twice as many 70 point seasons as Datsyuk

And Datsyuk has 6 more top 3 Selke finishes and 3 ppg seasons in which he missed time and didn't score 70 points.

I'd lean Malkin, but pure point totals don't tell the story of these 2 players.

It's obviously you know more than the rest of us. Like, how Malkin had 4 great seasons, even though he's top 3 in points since coming into the league, only behind Ovechkin and Crosby. Ahead of players like Kane, Sedins, and Thornton, who played a lot more games. He's been above a PPG player. If your idea of great is only including seasons over 100 and the 98 point season he had in 2017-2018, and knocking points off for injuries, then how many great seasons did Datsyuk have? I love Datsyuk but don't embarrass yourself here talking about how this poll speaks volume of fans who don't understand hockey.

Rookie season - 85 points / 78 games. (scoring was high that season across the board, but for a Rookie?)
2007 - 2008 - 2nd in points.
2008 - 2009 - 1st in points.
2009 - 2010 - 77 points / 67 games.
2010 - 2011 (Injured for most of the season)
2011 - 2012 - 109 Points / 75 games. (Scoring way down that season)
2012 - 2013 (Injured for most of the season. Still above PPG)
2013-2014 - 72 Points / 60 games
2014 - 2015 - 70 Points / 69 games
2015 - 2016 - 58 points 57 games.
2016 - 2017 - 72 points / 62 games.
2017 - 2018 - 98 points / 78 games.
2018 - 2019 - 72 points / 68 games.

It's not all about points, but don't play it off as Malkin had 4 seasons.
