After watching the blasting he gave Bednar maybe he could be had for a large package , Desperate GM's do desperate trades when they feel the firing line is edging closer and the AV team is playing terrible . Rangers have some first rounders and some guys . What would a good package be for both clubs . Would be the generational talent the Rangers have sought and are seeking in the draft . Fire away....

Rangers wouldn't put together a package of players that make it worthwhile to Colorado. Sakic's job isn't on the line and he's a very patient man with a solid trade record.

If the Rangers want their rebuild to be set back half a decade though, feel free to shoot your shot.

This would never happen.

From a GM's perspective, one should retain a top 5 player in the world over a coach who is much more easily replaceable.

I think if that's your reasoning, it won't go well. I think the Avs would fire the coach before moving MacK. And if the GM actually was going to move him....he'd get fired as well.

What if however MacKinnon wants out and wants to be back East closer to his home base . Think about the money he would make off ice in NY versus Colorado ? It would offset the money he is losing by playing there with that presently constructed deal he has . He is easily 3-4 million a year underpaid right now and 3-4 years left on it ?

Yeah the Rangers are one of those teams that doesn't have the pieces to get Mackinnon IMO.

No GM is stupid enough to trade a 23 year old like MacKinnon. It doesn’t even matter what’s being offered.

Lock this ***** up. I’m embarrassed it was started by a Rangers fan.

For all of Sakic's flaws as a GM, I don't think desperate has ever been one of them. He tends to lean the other way.

At any rate, MacKinnon has developed into an elite player who is still young. He's on a steal of a contract. I don't think the Rangers have the assets to field a competitive offer for him. He opens up doors to get elite players back.

No GM is getting the go ahead to trade a guy like McKinnon without the approval of the owner.

I don't think that's happening.

Good day.

Approval of the league, not the owner at this state.
Pac + subban + price was offered for Lecavalier a long time ago when they were prospects, the League refused the trade because it would have been too hard on Tampa bay marketing with the lost of Lecavalier

Mackinnon isn’t generational. You don’t trade players like Mackinnon.

Better send Landy too for those times Mac falls off the bench. I think that puts the price somewhere around "Sacrifice all your firstborns to Satan" + Tony DeAngelo (Satan).
