Since it’s obvious that Mackinnon hates Denver so much and won’t stay past this contract it gives Buffalo too much leverage. I think the Avs would need to add Makar.

Mackinnon can then live happily in a place where he’d obviously be honored to extend. Buffalo.

Hands down Colorado would never trade Mack for Jack even if Jack was 100% healthy, but in your scenario there’s no way the Avs would say no
