I don't want this to turn into a comparison between these 2 players, I just noticed that this happened I believe last night, Mackinnon is 47th in active NHL players in scoring, and McDavid is right behind in 48th. Really quite impressive and fascinating considering most of the active players around them have play 800-1000 career games.

It's wild to think both of them could pass some really good players in points next season like Duchene, Pacioretty, O'Rielly, and Oshie. I don't think it's really fair to include the defensemen as they don't rack up the points at near the same rate.
