Why would the Sharks do this? They just went and acquired Karlsson, they aren't looking to move key players for futures. Even if they were, I imagine they could get better value than this.

Leafs want nothing to do with his 7m X 8 year contract. Vlasic uses his NMC to block any deal.

And we can lock this thread with the very first response.

The idea that other teams than their favourite team might have designs on a Cup too seems lost on some fans.

Might as well dial up Tampa and ask about the asking price of Brayden Point, or give Nashville a ring to see the cost on Ekholm. Some pieces are just not for sale - particularly not cornerstone pieces from contenders for mediocre futures.

Johnsson isn’t useless this offer doesn’t even get a courtesy listen from maybe the sharpest GM in the NHL.
