This game is a good example of how a strong defence can make a goalie look great, and a strong goalie can make a defence look great. Specifically the second one. Nikitin doesn't help either

If one guy deserves power play time, it's Nikitin.
maybe that was the idea. Maybe the only reason we wanted him was for his point shot.

I don't get why McLellan would actually think Nikitin could be even passable in absolutely any other category though. This was the wrong defenseman to have in the lineup with a rookie goalie in net.

Had some bad luck. He's had several very good shifts.
Him and Drai have been the most dangerous Oiler forwards imo.

Eberle had one good shift where he had 2 good chances, and another where he missed a wide open net, not sure he was among the best, but not a bad night

I never want to see another game with Nikitin in the line up EVERY AGAIN or else this team is basically just tanking.
