Meanwhile from 2000 and for U25 (it's Samuel's U24 season, but lets include another year), that isn't the case. It's not like there isn't plenty of precedent for players who score a lot of AHL goals and just can't translate it into NHL success. Looking at the AHL since '70-'71 and there are a lot of guys who are AAAA players in terms of goal scoring -

About 50/50, what's interesting to me is that Samuel's goalscoring pace is seemingly only matched by Vatrano (36 in 36 as a U22) and Brandon Bochenski (33 in 35 as a U25). So even that 50/50.

And All Strengths? 20 GP is rather low, not even a third of a season.Even strength goals per game he's at .4 which for players with 20 or more AHL games in a season in the last 20 years is good for 15th best. Using the same age and GP, he's 8th best at PPG/game at 0.34.

Nah, I was saying a higher threshold would be better, lowest I usually go for statistics is 40% of a total but 60% I prefer. If you include under 20 games played results, it makes the rankings really odd since guys will have just a couple games and multiple goals.
16 PPG for the year is a solid driver for his overall goals per game. He's got 19 at even strength, 16 at 5-on-5.

So that's 6 SHG? Seems high?
He's pretty much a one-trick pony and that trick doesn't work at the NHL level. The quintessential AAAA player.41 goals in AHL.
Classic not good enough for top 6 in the NHL and cant play in the bottom 6?
