Ladd is a good guy. Character, versatile and plays hard.

After the move to Atlanta, Ladd was leaned on a lot more, with 2 more mins of 5v5, 2-3 mins more 5v4 and 1-2 mins more 4v5.His point production in even strength suffered a bit but the added power play more than replaced those lost points.

Even Strength Advance Stats
YEAR | RelQoC | OZS | RelCorsi | Corsi | G/60 | A1/60 | P/60
2007| 0.452| 50.1| 05.8| 04.71| 1.14| 0.52| 2.18

2007: Ladd splits the season between Carolina and Chicago. He posts pretty impressive offensive numbers and comes ahead by a bit with outshooting/possessing his opponents.
2008: Ladd faces much tougher minutes with very steep matchups and more d-zone starts than o-zone. His offensive numbers take a dive, with the exception of his primary assists which basically double every other year (thank you Patrick Sharp) but he competently out-chances his opponents.
2009: Next season Ladd is pushed into the o-zone a lot more and faces a bit less competition. This spikes up his goalscoring a bit and his outshooting stays stable (Corsi). His outchancing relative to his teammates (RelCorsi) takes a dip even though his own numbers (Corsi) stay stable... I guess his team must had been strong that year. Anyone know if 2009 was a good season for Chicago??
2010: Ladd is traded to Atlanta where he is leaned on much more heavily to cover all situations (see first table). On a weaker team and being leaned on more, his possession numbers take a dip as does his point production.
2011: Ladd flies over to Winnipeg and builds a house. The tough minutes are split between his line and GST. LLW finds it stride and becomes a very above-average tough minutes offensive line. Ladd finds his role as a goal scorer and picks up to decent goal scoring rates. His primary assists suffer, which may be due to role or due to his linemates... His possession numbers go back up to Chicago days as LLW greatly outshoots its opponents.
He also improved his PK in his second year of FT duties from 48 SA/60 (one of teams worst) to 40 SA/60 (only Burmistrov did better).

Summary
IMHO, if Ladd played C with good FO% he'd be a decent contender for Selke. He's a great two-way forward that can beat tough minutes and still bring high-end scoring.
There's very few forwards (14) last year who out-chanced their opponents by a ratio >10:1 (Corsi >10), scored more than 1G every 60 mins (>1 G/60), and wasn't extremely sheltered (>0.3 RelQoC):
Steen, Seguin, Marchand, Kunitz, Horton, Malkin, Toews, Neal, Sharp, Franzen, Stalberg, Ladd, Pavelski, and Hudler.
Some of the guys are two-way guys and some are offensive machines, but all are guys who score goals and keep the play in the offensive zone when playing against other teams 1st and 2nd lines.

I'm adding in an additional section (and may go back and add it to the defence and Burmistrov) about what I'd like to see on a Stanley Cup possible team.

1-2 Years in the Future
My hopes is Kane to continue to progress into a stalwart 1st line LW scoring line so that Ladd can be relied on a little bit less heavily. Ladd to me serves a perfect owner for the LW on a tough minutes defensively aware offence line (2nd line, think Kesler in Vancouver). By facing these tough minutes Ladd's line protects the scoring line (1st line) and lightens the load on the shutdown line (3rd).

Makes one wonder about if not this year maybe next

Kane Jokinen Wheeler (wow that would be a big fast 1st line)
Ladd Scheifele Little (2nd line)

Mark is good defensivley although he might not be ready for top 6 minutes and its hard to break up LLW based on how good they were last year but Wheels should probabaly be on a pure scoring 1st line.

Sounds about right. He seems like a slightly lesser version of what Lehtinen was for Dallas in his prime to me?

You should work out his Poke Check Efficiency. Ladd has the best stick I think I've ever seen.....

Another great statistical review Garret. Were you not able to find shooting percentages for Ladd though? Seems like they're missing from your tables.
