If the Rangers are willing to retain cap and give him a favorable trade (both in destination and what they want back) then maybe he could get moved this season or next, he definitely deserves his name on the Cup even if it is some other team or as a 1A/1B or whatever even later in his career.

Definitely think some teams would and should be interested. A contending team with some cap space could probably get him without having to give up anything significant, as getting rid of that cap hit would already be beneficial to the Rangers.
This is the type of move the 2000s Red Wings would have been all over. Adding a veteran goalie to an already stacked team to push the goalie competition and give the team a higher competitive edge come playoff time. There are a few teams currently that fit that bill.
