The Rumor Mill

• Overall spending is WAY down today - lots of teams are over the cap or pushing its limits, so today (and tomorrow!) are fantastic days to get some great deals and steals.
• Gonna be an annoying evening for me, as we currently have 6 ties that will need to be broken, and none of them are for impact players (all <4.1M).
• Despite the low spending, the top end players are still coming in with high bids, although one in particular seems surprisingly low as of now.
• Gonna see a lot more busts today... the trade market is clearly slowing, and contracts are getting harder and harder to move. How will GMs navigate this? Who will be the first to make a real buy-out? Will a bigger name than Kucherov (shaking my f***ing head) be bought out for free? hey_i_doubt_it.gif
• Don't forget, there is also a day 11... Day 10 will feature a few remaining marquee names, but the best NHLer on Day 11 is... Corey Perry. So for those of you with lots of cap space left, don't wait too long or you may end up with nothing worth spending it on.

The Rumor Mill

• Today is by FAR the lowest spending day we've seen. We're barely over half of the previous lowest.
• Good deals are plentiful today. For the wise few of you who saved up until today, there are lots of options for incredibly cheap steals that can bolster rosters.
• We've also had the fewest bids today, again barely half of the previous lowest. Is there a correlation here...? I'd guess so.
• We're looking at TEN teams busting today should current winning bids hold. 5 remaining teams hold over 80% of the leftover cap space, so those 5 GMs will likely control how this game ends...
• Given that tomorrow, there's nothing to spend on, the 100M cap space remaining ought to be spent TODAY! Need to see some more competitive bids!
