Vote for a player and plead your case, talk, have fun, etc.

Only players who are eligible for the 2020 Calder trophy (so no Wagner, Amadio, etc). Calder eligibility is defined as:
- No older than 26 years old as of September 15th, 2019 (so Prokhorkin just makes the cut, if you wish to vote him in)
- Has not played in more than 25 games in one season or more than 6 games in two consecutive seasons. (so Matt Roy, at 25 games, just makes the cut if you want to vote him in)

No players left to nominate, though if you all want to nominate to stop this chain, I'm receptive to that. Otherwise, might as well keep going!

halfway through the season, how's your top 10 list looking? kings are pretty stacked,
seems like 15 of these guys are going to play in the NHL. how far has fagemo jumped
since the summer? any other big risers? anyone actually disappointing so far this year?

Fagemo has to have jumped to just outside/around top-5 imo

Mostly just disappointed in Shafigullin and Dergachyov rotting away in Russia. Grundstrom looked pretty sloppy at camp, but even TMac points out he's a 'game' player not a practice player, so a little disappointed he hasn't made more of an impact. Brickley is a major disappointment, but the dude has to have had the worst two years of any prospect off- and on-ice with personal and injury issues while transitioning to the pro game...but I doubt he's with us after this year.

Lizotte was a real surprise, he's arguably one of our best players on the live roster, Prokhorkin was a wild card anyway so I'm not sure I'd call him a 'riser' but he's here to stay. Roy as well, he's getting better every game. I was wrong about him. Clague has looked better in the NHL than in the AHL. Moverare is rebounding nicely overseas, and Nousiainen is quietly kicking ass.

Goalies are usually kind of voodoo, but I feel we nailed most of them, though Ingham is going nuclear and deserves to be higher.

A few months later, I am sure you could ask ten people to make a new top ten list, and you'd get 10 completely different lists. Some have stepped up, and all have done very good things at different stages, so it depends on what you prioritize.

Fagemo is definitely a riser as the top goal and point scorer and being one of the top forwards of the tournament. He has also done well for Frolunda in the CHL, having bursts of scoring.

Even though quite a few of these prospects won't count the next time we conduct this, I think all of Roy, Lizotte, and Prokhorkin have acquitted themselves quite well as being good enough to play in the NHL.

I would say the biggest disappointment is Shafigullin, and that's mostly because he came back after injury and played well enough to earn a promotion into the KHL. After two games in the KHL, he's been out of the lineup indefinitely. Everyone else has understandable bumps or is meeting expectations, so I can't really say anyone else has been disappointing.

These lists are so much fun to look back at and see just how we did. The one that leaps out to me is Matt Roy at #17. He was the best defender in ONT the year before, and he'll likely be the best defender for the Kings in the NHL this season when it's all said and done (statistically anyway), and I'm not just talking about +/- . So for next year, Roy, Petersen, Porkhorkin and Lizotte (I had Lizotte pegged at the 1C in ONT this season, prior to knowing Vilardi's status, but he exceeded that by making a poor NHL team with little depth). I think Madden slots in around #4 or #5, and I think Thomas is a bit underappreciated re his skill set. Bjornfot has also been better than Anderson this year and is 2 years younger. Kupari will punch backwards a few notches also.

Do you think Moverare comes back over and competes for a LHD spot? I'm curious to see how he competes/compares with Anderson, Clague, Brickley and Toby. Figuring those guys are his competition for a roster spot. It'll be interesting watching to see who rises to the top.

From what I have read, the plan is to have Moverare come over next season, he'll very like be in the AHL unless he totally surprises. Also, Kings want Hults to sign after his junior season at Penn State and be another LHD to compete in the organization.
