Happy for him. Always thought he was the best Swedish D in this draft and apparently the panthers agreed with me. Great puck moving D who also skates really well.

Seems like a good pick for that stage, already got a cup of coffee with the mens this past season.

This could be interesting... This is what I expect from now on with our new scouting team; taking euros in the later rounds. Ive always felt we've missed out on great players because of the lack of this previously.

Never seen the kid and don't know nothing. Still first thing that comes to mind is Rasmus Bengstrom

Don't know if he going to the CHL but he has been drafted.
Him playing some games with the big club is a pretty safe indication that he's staying, usually it's the guys that don't have any guarantee of playing anything other than U20 that make the jump to CHL at 18yo.

Didn't hurt Provorov coming to Brandon but it does seem unlikely to see a Swede come over
Provorov had played many years in North America before he even got to Brandon, his career path isn't even remotely comparable to that of Nassen's.

Nassen looks to be a long-term project and the best thing Panthers management can offer him is stability. Just let him grow in peace with Luleå and see where he is at 3-4 years from now.

Since Nassen was drafted in 2016 it seems to me that the Panthers would have to sign him this summer or lose his rights. However, it appears he is signed with Vaxjo in Sweden's SHL through next season.

He is only 22-years-old. Do the Panthers still have plans for him and if so, can they wait another year before offering him an ELC?

Most of the European leagues have a transfer agreement with the NHL (KHL and NLA are somewhat different), so the contract is a non-issue. We do lose his rights come June.

But I doubt there's interest.
