I had an 8th grader last year in my advisory who was obsessed with fantasy sports and would come in talking about how he and his dad were going to bet a grand on NFL teams X, Y, and Z over the weekend.

It made me sick to my stomach.

During a recent Bruins game, my nine-year-old asked me if he could do Draft Kings because his classmate does. Less than a minute into explaining to him why he could not do it, an ad came on for them and he said, "See? Draft Kings," as though I had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Simply because it was on TV, he assumed it must be ok for anyone/everyone.

FWIW his maternal grandfather nearly lost my ex's home when she was growing up with his gambling debts, so I'd say that factors greatly into my concern.

There is a reason casinos take in millions. Nobody wins. I have never heard anyone say that they lose. Everyone wins and yet these companies make money over. I teach my kids not to gamble. They are young. I know people who are addicted to Keno. They wins once in a while while they dump tons of money just to get that feeling of winning. They too never say that they loose.

Same. Just finished todays game. Never saw a single commercial thanks to the beauty of DVR.
