Despite no official release by the organization, the Tampa Bay Lightning have apparently signed defenseman Matt Corrente to a one-year, two-way contract per the player's twitter account and corroborated by capgeek.com.

Corrente, a 6'0" 205 lbs right-handed defenseman, is a another depth signing in a recent trend of acquisitions that include Dalton Smith, Mike Blunden, and Jeff Costello that seems to point to making the Syracuse Crunch a tougher and more punishing team to play.

lifelong devils fan here. watched corrente lots when he first came up. I was convinced this guy was going to be a top 4 just never panned out in nj. I still think he can become a solid nhl defenseman has smooth skills, plays with an edge. good luck with him.
