Green established himself as a key contributor on a Cornell defensive unit that repeatedly proved to be among the country's elite over his time on East Hill. He was named the ECAC Hockey Best Defensive Defenseman for the 2019-20 season – a resurgent campaign in which he posted a plus-20 rating that tied for the lead among league blueliners. While also logging heavy minutes on the penalty kill, Green played a big role in Cornell's five-on-five dominance. In 22 league games, the Big Red yielded just 19 even-strength goals. He ranked second on the team with 35 blocked shots.

Syracuse is going to have some new faces on their blue line with Semykin, Day, and now Green.

He has looked pretty good at times. Obviously a long shot but not completely impossible for him to become a 3rd pair guy.

Guance - Witkowski
Semykin - Thomas
Sieloff - Green
Day

With Masin going to Europe they really need to bring back both Guance and Sieloff. Think Semykin vs Day will be a good battle for that 3rd LD spot. I think they bring someone else in to challenge Green for the 3rd RD spot or Semykin can play their as he likes to play the right. Green should be a lot like Thomas as a good sized, good skating kid who does all things well he just doesn't stand out in any of them. Surprised he left Cornell early but with the NCAA uncertainty it's good to get a jump on your pro career and you can get your degree later.
