I am confused, everybody tells us our pipeline is empty? :sarcasm:
While we dont have the superstar level talent in the pipeline like we did when we drafted Vasy and Drouin, we have a ton middle of the lineup and future NHL caliber prospects waiting in the wings and im perfectly fine with that. alot of teams have a few superstar level prospects but not much else after that.

We were carrying 8 dmen before and then we were down to 7 after Foote was traded. I just see this as getting back to 8 again.

If you take a moment to look over what Syracuse and Orlando have, you will see that the prospect pool that was once the envy of the NHL is down to perhaps a handful of players. Gone are the days the Lightning could reach into the AHL for prospects to either trade or use as replacements for traded players at will.
Raddysh is one, Hugo is another. Carrick, ABB, and Ryfors are short term possibilities. After that, you have players who would be no better than the current 4th liners/8th defensemen you have in Tampa Bay. Some of the younger players are promising (Finley, Carlile, Edmonds, Fortier) and could be used as part of a trade package. If they stay with Tampa, they could use another year of AHL time but could be added to the short term list.

Imagine if every player was judged by their play in one or two games? He will adjust. There is a reason he is second in overall scoring from the blueline and 11th in plus/minus among all players at the AHL level.

Obviously we're joking after 1 game but you do know there's a reason a lot of the top AHL players never transition over right? He's also 27 years old, his chances are slim regardless of his performance tonight.

The top AHL scorer can't even make the Coyotes roster, the 2nd best? Alex Barre-Boulet? He's been sent down half a dozen times and can't make a team that desperately needs his skillset. Being "the best" of whatever at the AHL level doesn't really hold much merit.

The guy who spanked him on the goal? He's an undrafted AHL/NHL tweener who plays on the 4th line, it's not like he got beat an NHL regular either.

Interesting comments given that he and ABB are the two most ready Crunch skaters to "contribute" at the NHL level in the system right now.
I have read other names mentioned as players who could be recalled but if you look at what they have/have not done since being sent to the Crunch, their play in Syracuse shows EXACTLY why they are in the AHL and not filling NHL roster spots.
