Jarry shit the bed for a period. The 200 foot commitment and level of discipline was, unlike previous games, not near perfect. After getting away with so much cute stuff against Toronto, trying similarly cute things tonight led to a lot of turnovers. And, Tampa (IMO the more talented team on paper tonight) got pissed after the 1st and elevated their game.

Much better effort than the scoreboard indicates, imo. Can't always expect a pile of goals from a buncha dudes who are basically lunchpail guys, especially when our two big offensive guys in Kap and Jake look like dookie. Jarry was great for us in recent games but tonight showed the other side of the MAF-lite coin where he was shaky as f*** and had completely forgone fundamentals like cutting down angles and how to hold his glove.

On to the next one. Hope Matheson's arm doesn't swell up to the size of a beachball.

This game was decided within a 3 minute window. The Pens were buzzin and had like a 2 minutes of zone time with great chances, and then let one in the other way immediately after. 10 seconds later another one. It was uphill from there.

2 bad defensive zone issues lead to a goal.
1 bad goal given up by a goalie that then didn't let anything in for the 3rd while the offense didn't help until it was too late and the narrative here is just, yikes.

A team that has most of its stars in the lineup couldn't score more than 3 without the goalie pulled, a team missing most of its big names and the ones in the line up, doing nothing.

Jake Guentzel has been the biggest joke on this team so far this season.
