No ..So the school sends them the LRI to be signed by the player but it's not official due to the fact that the school hasn't signed it??
it’s more like the coach / athletic program sends you one. The school signing is called the actual scholarship which is the last thing signed
This really is not that complex. And it boils down to when NLI are signed, they are honored about 97%-98% of the time. And this is among hundreds of thousands of athletes a year. The rare times they aren’t? It’s almost always because of academic reasons. But they are always honored. Why don’t you guys get this? When athletic programs sign you with a NLI, they are truly committing to you. They don’t want to screw you by bailing later. I guess they still could through loopholes but reality is that it rarely if at all ever happens. They don’t hand out NLI like they do offers.. you do realize that right? They can send 10000 invites and interests to players and receive 10000 verbal commits.. the NLI are a valued thing.. they don’t hand them out like candy. They are given to the kids that they both feel are interested and they want.
Again, not a hard concept. And not all kids need to sign a NLI. They can give a verbal commit and then jump right to a scholarship signing. The NLI are reserved for the top end guys (generally), which means the athletic team wants to honor them. That’s why they offer them.. to lock you as the athlete in too
