Letestu vs .....someone in the lineup

First off Mark is nearing the end of his playing days. But that being said should he be slotted in the line up somewhere? In Cleveland he was seeing power play and shorthanded minutes. Seems like he'd still be useful. Good on face offs, steady vet influence for someone like Wennberg. Can probably give 8-12 minutes a game at wing or center. Since Duclair seems destined for the Sonny treatment, or Sedlak is showing no offense ability. Wouldn't he give the lineup at least a little boost? Thoughts?

No. Not a chance. Mark is not an NHL caliber player anymore no matter how our media team or fans on this board want to chalk it up. Elite teams play their best players, not tenured ones.

Wennberg probably shouldn't be playing but Letestu is not the player who should be replacing him.

Partial agree. Wennberg has actually looked engaged in the last few games, maybe he's figuring it out again. Either way, he's a huge upgrade over Letestu.

Please read Duclair or Sedlak

No thanks. Both are quicker. I like Letestu, always have. He seems like a great guy, but his game was built on being quick and hard working. Both of these players are not only quicker, but bigger, younger, and have more upside at this point in their careers.

There's a reason Mark didn't get an NHL contract in the offseason, and settled for a two-way deal. He just isn't the player he was 5 years ago.

Current lineup is rolling. It should be left alone for the time being. That includes both Letestu and Dubinsky, if he’s healthy. CBJ’s record in their last six games with Dubinsky in the lineup: 0-6. CBJ record in last seven games without Dubinsky: 7-0.
