wish we had both. If I could only have one, i take Lehtera - especially with how good he's been on the dot

Lehtera. He doesn't have Sobotka's tenacity, but he's still a big, talented two-way center who's a step away from becoming a star just like both of his linemates.

Lehtera makes so much more of an impact it's not even close.

Effort only gets you so far and Sobotka's offense is just limited. Lehtera has come into this league and looks like an All Star, i.e. exactly what we've been missing down the middle.

Lehtera, he's been a massive addition, the guy is very tenacious himself, in fact I'd have to say his compete level has been right long neck in neck with what Sobotka brings every night, even though Vladdy's Gumption (see what I did there) probably edges it out. Sobotka was a little better on the dot, but again not by a huge amount. However Lehtera has been and is miles better with the puck on his stick creating chances and scoring.

Lehterä...it's just not even close. Lehterä looks to be more durable too. He may not be very physical but he can take the punishment, Lehterä's offense is so good and as far as the dot, he'd probably be better if he'd quit getting kicked out lol.... the big bright spot for me is Lehterä's 2 way ability.

I loved Sobotka's play here, but Lehtera is clearly the better player. Not the big hitter that Sobotka was, but as good defensively, and a much better offensive player and a better face-off man, too.

We've made comparisons for his line mates, so it's only right that he get his.

He's a big body, while not physical, isnt afraid to take a hit to make a play, protects the puck, and leans on his opposition along the boards. Not to mention his surprising defensive prowess.

Dare I say Kopitar-lite? :dunno:

I want both honestly. If I can only have one, it has to be Lehtera. Strong 200 foot player who can contribute offensively. I love Soby as a third liner, PK/faceoff specialist, but that's much easier to replace than what Lehtera has brought to the team.

What Lehtera brings on the offensive side completely blows Sobotka out of the water. Sobotka had a lot more grit defensively, but I have no complaints with Lehtera's defensive game either.

I like both players, but I would take Lehtera every day of the week.

What is the point of this? There isn't anything to discuss.

Lehterä is clearly the superior player, but it wasn't a choice between the two.

Those two should not be compared.

Sobotka > Berglund.

Well obviously.
That's like asking whether or not it's better to be:
on a tropical island or in space in your He-Man underoos
(Island > space)
Or asking what's more valuable:
An AHL defenseman or Pietrangelo.
(AHL defenseman > Pietrangelo)

Lehtera is an offensive center and a playmaker while Sobotka is mainly a defensive center and a grinder. If he sticked around he would have the same role as Berglund, that's why those two should be compared instead.
