I do not know anything technical about goalies. If the paddle is cut down, does that open the five hole more?

Yes and no, he'll have to re-position his blocker in all his stances in order for the stick to cover the 5-hole properly. It's more of an adjustment thing, but still an important change. 26'' paddle is not long for a 6'5'' goalie

Can he not put a 2 inch wrap on tape on top of his paddle?

Keep his hand in the same place and its not that big of a deal?

Odd. What would be so difficult by going 5-10 to 6 feet at 26", then 6 to 6-2 at 27", then 6-2 to 6-4 at 28"...etc? It would work better, and be fair, to actually scale with the height of the player. Silly league.

guys calm down, im sure he can get an exception from the league, maybe theyll only lower it by an inch or something
The league making an exception for a Sens player? If anything, the exception they'll make is to ask him to cut it even shorter.

Are they ****ing kidding me? His entire stance can change now with the readjustment to his left arm.

I say Lehner sticks to his old sticks and if they call him out he should present his case in light and with the evidence out there, I have no doubt they will allow him.

Just cause he is one inch off the cutoff, does not mean he should use something that a 6in shorter goalie than him uses.

lehner will adjust. it's not the length of the stick that's important it's how you use it, amiright?

If he spiked his hair he'd be 6'6".... problem solved! Otherwise I'd ask to have every goalie remeasured by an independent body to make sure they are the height they say they are so they use the right stick.

Make new stick design for 26' sticks, put said design on 28' sticks, use 28' sticks. No one will even know

Basically it's possivly get called out for a penalty or small fine vs. possibly ruin your promising career.

Pretty obvious choice here.
