Mcdrai benefit by playing on a team with three AHL lines. They play the full two minute power play and last five minutes of games ffs. Excellent players, but they benefit in terms of points because of this. Put them on Tampa, Leafs, Avalanche, Bruins or any team with depth and I bet they don’t focus on padding stats as much. Lindros and the legion of doom had rod brindamour Joel ottto pat falloon to share ice time with. They were dominant in a way that cannot be described.

Depends on the era they play on.
Part of what makes McDavid so good is his speed, the two line pass inhibits that quite a bit.
Plus there's no way to know how effective they would be if someone could literally tackle/bearhug/ski behind them, and it all be within fair play.
People will be quick to point out that skill players succeeded back then, but there is a substantial difference between being used to playing in today's tame environment and back then. They would eventually adapt to it, but it wouldn't be instantaneous.

Today's nhl, the legion of Doom would always be in the box.

Of course in any case 3 should generally beat 2, and if the teams are of similar quality overall it probably comes down to other factors in a po series than those 5.

Lindros never won an Art Ross or a cup.

I'm sorta surprised people consider him the best of that era.

Lindros had one year where he played like the player his reputation says he is -- the strike shortened 48 game season. If that was the Lindros we saw every season, he'd have earned the best player of the era title. But it wasn't. Every other year he either wasn't the top guy or missed too much time to be the top guy.

Nah. He was the best player every time he stepped on the ice.

Today, the LOD would be on the PP 90% of the time, the only way to stop them was to hook them and hitch a ride back in the 90's (when it wasn't a penalty)...that's why they had to play a rough/nasty game back at the opposition.

If Lindros was smart enough to adjust his game just enough he might have been healthy enough to reach his potential. But of course we’re going to have people come in and say Sakic/Jagr/Yzerman/Forsberg couldn’t touch Lindros blah blah blah.

And there goes your credibility.
