Never was a fan of Fehr, but always happy to see a guy get another chance.

Main thing is - Leafs are clearing out contract slots.....

I'm a fan of these moves. Clearing the roster clutter and stocking up on some picks. Even if they're late rounders, they're still assets.
I'm all for asset management.
Glad to see these things getting done at least.

Least commented Leafs trade ever?

Maybe the Martin Skoula to NJD deal beats it lol

Two players traded for picks now, guess we're sellers? :sarcasm:

Can't complain about any return, especially in this case since he was placed on waivers by us previously. Experienced depth option.

Decent return given the circumstances.

To be honest though, I think Fehr was our most effective centre on the 4th line earlier this season.

His level of play on the ice had nothing to do with what happened to him.

Inb4 Blues 4th 2019 and Sharks 7th 2020 for Glendening
Yes and next year when we need to dump Glendenning maybe we can get a seventh for him....
Lol no thanks. Getting Fehr was questionable. Dumping his contract and getting a seventh? Wow, win win.
But please, if we pick up a fourth line centre, let’s upgrade, not go sideways and get a bad contract.
Now Lou has to work his magic and make Martin and his really stupid contract disappear.

Part of me wishes that this deal didn't get done until deadline day, but it was the only deal of the day, and they'd be stuck analyzing this for hours.

Lou never ever laughs!!!!
Good job though. Now a 1st for Leivo and I'm happy haha

After watching Hyman go head first into the boards the other night may have changed some minds about keeping Leivo around for depth purposes

Since the NHL went to 7 rounds a little over a decade ago, our 7th round picks included: Anton Stralman, Carl Gunnarson, Andreas Johnsson.

As long as we keep drafting Swedes with that pick, it's definitely not a waste of time.
And we turned Gunnarson into, get this... Roman Polak!
