I believe Fehr was one of the two 70/40 forwards we made available to Vegas in the expansion draft. He was very good value for the lost cap space endured.

Draft pick

Win-win-win-win.

San Jose gets a physical guy who could play 4C or wing, since Fehr is still NHL quality.

Another win there as well.

Can we or should we expect to see the Sharks bring him up and play him? When I check Cap Friendly, they have him in the minor system. If they don't bring him up and play him, then, I wonder why the Sharks made this deal. Does anyone think there was a handshake on another deal that is still coming with the Sharks?

Really, if they don't use him in the NHL, why give up a pick - albeit it only a 7th pick plus his cap hit as well makes it hard for me to see why the Sharks did this. And when they recall him (assuming they do), do they have space or do they risk putting someone else on waivers - I don't know about the Sharks system at all, thus, I'm asking these questions.

Fehr is bad, and has been for years. Why someone is wasting a perfectly good asset and a contract spot I have no idea.

Not sure why the Sharks love giving us picks though: 2nd last year, 2nd this year, 3rd this year, and 7th in 2020.

2016 23 game playoff participant and Stanley Cup Champion Eric Fehr says hi.

Eric Fehr - Playoffs 2015-16:

rel.CF%: -7.31
rel.xGF%: -8.96
rel.GF%: -11.83

I reiterate: Fehr is bad, and has been for years.

If any player on the Leafs played like that for 23 games, we'd have their head after game 5.

Like many of you, I had totally forgotten that we even had him in the organization. Unfortunate because I don't think he got a fair chance here. He's still an NHLer.

With both Soshnikov and Fehr gone, we're now at 48 contract spots. It's nice to have some flexibility heading into the deadline.
