In the Sens box last night, the execs said it will be an unprecedented amount of blue tomorrow. Truly a night where it will be more than Sens fans , by far.

Been noticing a lot of physically unattractive people wearing Leafs hats during my lunch hour downtown. It's a largely unfortunate looking fanbase.
That made me laugh. Well done!

Nilsson goes again

That's good news.

Nilsson, apart from a stinker or two which every guy has, is giving us good enough goaltending to win. It's reflected in his sv% and w/l.

Unfortunately since the start of last year we are not getting "good enough to win" goaltending from Anderson and it shows in his numbers.

Idk how we get rid of Andy for next year, but i am hoping our combo is Nilsson and Hogberg.

Taking a look at Nilsson's actual individual game stats do a good job of identifying why he hasn't established himself as a legit starter in this league yet - half of his games he's been amazing, the other half he's been real bad. He looked like a world-beater the other night, but if you look at the EIGHT games he played immediately before the Blues game, he's been real bad, to the tune of 29 goals against in 8 games (3.625 GAA, .868Sv%)

It's not just "a stinker or two". It's like literally half the guy's starts - he's a Jeckyl & Hyde kind of guy. I mean... yeah, I like him better than Andy at this point too, so agreed on that point, but let's be sure we're being honest with what we have in Nilsson.

A good argument can be made that the best course of action for the Sens this summer is to buy out both Anderson and Condon.

Anderson is - in my opinion - totally cooked as an NHL starting goaltender. He's not providing quality goatending and he is completely untradeable, so why not buy him out? Saves melnyk money and due to Anderson being a 35+ contract his full 4.75M cap hit stays on the books helping us get to the floor. Win-win!

Condon was never good and if he's healthy he should be bought out as well.

Here's a little breakdown for next season:

Default Scenario: Anderson [4.75/4.0] and Condon [2.4/3.0]
Total Cap: 7.15
Total Cash: 7.0

Condon Buyout: Anderson [4.75/4.0] and Hogberg [2.5/2.5] plus Condon buyout [.400/1.0]
Total Cap: 7.65
Total Cash: 7.5

Anderson buyout: Anderson buyout [4.75/1.333333] with Nilsson [2.5/2.5] and Condon [2.4/3.0]
Total Cap: 9.65
Total Cash: 6.833333

Double buyout: Anderson buyout [4.75/1.333333] Condon buyout [.400/1.0] with Nilsson [2.5/2.5] and Hogberg [.9/.9]
Total Cap: 8.55
Total Cash: 5.733333
