A match up of two hot teams tonight as the Leafs head down the 401 for their fourth game of the season against the Red Wings. Toronto, currently 4th in the Atlantic, has gone on a nice 6-1-1 run since getting blown out by the Preds .. While Detroit (tied for 1st in the Atlantic) has gone 7-1-0 since losing to the Leafs in their previous meeting.

The top line for the Leafs showed some signs of breaking out of their mini-slump last night but the offensive continues to be provided by the young centres Kadri, Holland, as well as the Leafs depth role players. With a strong performance last night, Bernier has put in good reason to get the start tonight.

Projected Line-Ups (Subject to Change):

Toronto Maple Leafs

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Winnik - Kadri - Santorelli
Lupul - Holland - Clarkson
Booth - Smith - Panik

Phaneuf - Franson
Rielly - Robidas
Gardiner - Holzer

Bernier
Reimer

Injured: Polak, Komarov

Game notes:
- Assumed the line up is the same as last night
- Bernier listed as the starter based on Henny's "hunch"
- Percy has been recalled, unsure if he'll get into the line up or not

Dam, that Detriot line up. Although it should be noted Datsyuk was a 6th rd hidden gem, not 7th rd. :p:

I want Reimer to start for purely selfish reasons. Going to the game on Sat, and haven't been to a winning game in about 2 years. If Bernier starts tonight, all signs point to Red Light Reimer on Sat.

IMO, Bernier will get Saturday as well with Reimer playing Sunday

When is the starter confirmed?

Not until the pregame warm up, so 730ish.

Paul Hendricks believes Bernier will get the start. Siegel mentioned that Carlyle was thinking about going back to Berneir.

Jonas Siegel @jonasTSN1050 · 5h 5 hours ago
Randy Carlyle has been very consistent in splitting back-to-backs but conceded last night to "temptation" in going back to Bernier tonight.

Paul Hendrick @HennyTweets · 3h 3 hours ago
Only Booth and Kozun skated for the Leafs this morning. No official word on who starts tonite but my sense is that it's Bernier . #TMLtalk

Derek Camara ‏@CamaraDerek 3h3 hours ago
@HennyTweets Jonas said its expected Reimer

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 3h3 hours ago
@CamaraDerek I beg to differ Derek. #TMLtalk

Oh the dilemma, I think we will go with the only other option, Bernier. Lol

Think you may have missed a 9th round hidden gem or 2 from back when that was a thing.

not really, no. why would we start bernier back to back then reimer after an extra day off? bernier's playing until he totally blows it.

I can see Bernier starting on one back to back, but not two back to backs in the same week. Reimer is playing at least ONE game for sure out of these next three.

My only worry is they play Bernier tonight, Reimer on Saturday and Bernier on Sunday so he can play his old team.

Will be a very tough match-up. Red Wings has played very well lately and have depth in every lineup (except defense). I kind of expect a lost because of the hard work they pulled off last night, but wouldn't be surprised if they win. Like always, GLG!
