any word if Bernier will play B2B or does he get an extra day of rest with Reimer playing FLA and Bernier playing Tampa?

we need to win in regulation, keep the distance on Florida. (also, it doesn't help that everyone won today)

really anticipating this one.

and it's away to Florida which is weird.

it's really got nothing to do with them actually lol.

I hope we see a good first period that's for sure.

We got our ekblad in franson. I'm glad we never won the lottery. I much prefer nylander with what we've seen from him at wjc

I'd rather have Ekblad today, let alone when Ekblad gets to Franson's age. Will be one of the best D-men in the league.

Panthers are likely going to dominate the Leafs in shots, they're a good possession team this year and picked up further from where Horacheck left them off last year with Gallant.

Hope we win, but with this crap unadaptable coach, every game is a crapshoot.

52.7 corsi% playing against other teams top lines AS AN 18 YEAR OLD
but yeah, we should be glad we don't have him.

Ekblad has the potential to be a generational dman

I'm a big Nylander fan, but this is ridiculous haha! If Nylander becomes a 1C then maybe we can start talking, but right now Ekblad is already a top pairing defender at 18 years of age. Guy is looking like a surefire 1D right now, and to be honest, Nylander looks bored at the wjc lol. In the SHL games I watched him play he was buzzing every game, always looking engaged. Granted, I started watching today when it was already 3-0, but Nylander looked disinterested when he wasn't playing on the pp aha.

Franson sucks, if we had Ekblad right now this team could be a contender in a very short amount of time. Imagine Ekblad-Rielly on the top pairing, Dion and Gardiner on the second.

Ekblad looks like a top pairing d-man already and pretty much is one as a rookie. Sometimes it can turn to crap afterwards and all be downhill from there (see: Tyler Myers), but Ekblad looks like a franchise d-man. Franson doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Ekblad.

We really need to win this one. Panthers definitely look a threat for our last wild card spot. Unfortunately they are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league so the Leafs will probably lose 5-1.

Florida is #1 in the East in goals against with 82 goals against.. Leafs have given up 105 goals against (7th most in the NHL).

23 less goals against to this point for the young Panthers team.

Florida has 75 points from players 22 and younger this year while Leafs only have 1 player 22 and under Morgan Rielly who has 4-7-11 points. So Leafs veteran core has the offensive and experience advantage while youth & enthusiasm goes to the Panthers.

Florida's young core along with Luongo is the reason for their success.

This will not be an easy game for the Leafs to come away with 2 points if they don't bring their A game.
