We have 3 goalies developing well and Woll... it's hard to draft one in general.

That seems to be the case around this club as well, big expectations from our prospects which seldom pan out. We need numbers and maybe one in 8 will be what we are looking for.

That “spacing” problem has reared its ugly head on special teams. They all just seem so bunched up and in terrible body positioning to make anything happen.

Yep. But like they say when things arent going good and things arent going your way just get traffic in front and put it on the net. We didn't do that either, which makes no sense especially when we were getting out goalie'D. The game plan should have been to get the puck to the point and put it on the net, every time.... never mind passing it around for 40 seconds straight trying to make something out of nothing.

There is absolutely no way Leafs are gonna be able to comepete next season IMO given the way the "high AAV" players perform in the playoffs. They apparently need help; they can't get their line mates going; they need someone to get them going while making ridiculous AAV

and since all core4 cap hits (including matthews and nylander raises) are gonna count against the cap next season its almost next to impossible to compete next year. Four forwards with 11AAV+ next season... how does one even expect to have balanced line up? And the core4 offense doesn't show up in the post season at least based on the evidence we have especially in elimination games

The only way out of it is the core4 make their line-mates better driving their own lines; which given past evidence doesn't seem likely....

Leafs have to at least wait out the Tavares contract.

The raises are just Brodie + the cap raise...

They have a ton of cheap players next year

It shows that it's not for the lack of our player's ability. In the playoffs, both coaches have ample time to set up a strategy specifically for the opponent, and every season our strategy/tactics seem to be inferior to the opponent's.

The third goal was a nice shot and he had no stick; give him a slight pass on that.

Heart, intensity and desire have little to do with execution. They had lots of the former and brutal execution in specific areas.

We have one good defensive pair of D despite having 8 defensive D and Rielly.

They changed PP1 last game and scored... they kept that going.

The Matthews line had a full shift before they scored. Keefe was playing a hunch they'd be fired up for another goal. Galaxy brain at it again
