Babcock and his son cost us this game.

When we actually skate (like we did in the third period) we're a really good team.

Problem is we aren't skating like that on a consistent basis.

I think I'm ready for the Leafs to call up Sparks. He deserves a game or two and McBackup has now been bad to terrible in 3 of 4 games he's played.

Played a solid game defensively. McBackup couldn't make a big save when needed. Good effort in the third but the first two periods weren't too bad either. Washington played tight defensively but the Leafs pressure got to them eventually.

Babcock with some mismanagement with 30 seconds left not calling a timeout to get Matthews back on the ice.

Oh well on to the next one.

Bozak is better at winning draws, that's why he was on. He also nearly scored off one of the draws. Matthews should have been on instead of one of the D however.

Because they see that we lost but seem to be incapable of separating how we played from the final result. The Leafs looked like a playoff team tonight, even if they lost. Out-shot and out-chanced the opponent, played a pretty tight defensive game, but didn't get a couple bounces. Such is hockey.

Say what you want about the Leafs but Washington was fortunate to get a win with their performance.

Matthews has really fallen off since the injury. He has good moments here and there, but lacks execution. He's fallen off on the defensive end, too.

Marner has had 1 goal since opening night. Enough said. His weak failed attempt to break his stick at the end says all you need to know about his strength.

Nylander has potential but for some reason he's not competing.

Kadri was nowhere. Hyman is such pure trash it's unbelievable.

Agreed 100% with you - not only that he would put Hyman on the ice with goalie pulled and when you are looking for Offense
