I would have bet $1 million dollars that Leafs would claim a player on waivers as teams cut down as I was 100% confident Leafs were going to do this.

Frankie Corrado is now a Leaf.

I would have waived Arcobello and not Panik as he is young enough to have some potential.

Yay! Good move for us. Frankie still has potential and even if he doesn't make it he's well worth the risk when the cost is nothing.

I can't believe a player I wanted us to claim was actually, well, claimed by us. Feels good.

Corrado was pretty highly touted at one point and is still relatively young.

Last season, Corrado was the only defenceman that managed to post positive possession numbers while paired with Luca Sbisa, and not just positive -- he and Sbisa posted a 58.9% corsi percentage together. With the caveat that it was a small sample size, it was impressive enough that he should have been playing in the NHL

He was very promising s couple years ago and has struggled to find his game the last two years, but he's 22 and think he could become a 5th 6th guy.
