If Aaltonen hadn’t left the continent, would he be ranked higher?

If Aaltonen hadn’t left the continent, would he be ranked higher?

Definitely.

Probably the same factor that has left Dzierkals off the docket until the end. Although Schenn needs to add Herzog and Bobylev to the list, and they almost certainly will come after Dzierkals. How Dzierkals does not come on before guys like Kizimov and McAdam at the very least is beyond me.

He's next if that makes you feel better :laugh: not like he'd be voted yet anyways. I'll add Ferguson after just for Boutette too.

Again, I write in Brady Ferguson. I don't understand why the guy who dominated the prospect camp is still being left of the list.

I'm not big on Andrew Neilsen but I'm stunned at how far he's fallen here.
I mean, I don't think he ever plays and NHL game but I still see him included in trade proposals. So some seem to think there's value there.

Funny to see how we think of Hollowell when we drafted him higher than Kral and we have Kral at #15. Also Stotts who was drafted 83rd overall before Kral at 149th.

Wow nielsen's stock has dropped so much from last year. Hopefully he can have a bounce back season in the ahl and get back on track to becoming a nhler. His ceiling isnt as high as we thought It was after his d+1 or d+2 years, but hopefully he can become a bottom painting defender who can man the point on a power play unit like a cody franson.

Because he's not Leafs property, and dominating prospect camp at 24 isnt that impressive

More impressive than the prospects who didn't dominate. Like Martins Dzierkals, who is similarly on just a Marlies contract.

At this point how many people know anything about the guys left on the list.

It doesn't matter. This list isn't supposed to predict the future so we can pat ourselves on the back because of how smart we are. It just gives a snapshot of how the board views these prospects at this point in time.

Reason I'm voting McGregor
Voted 3rd best defensive forward in the OHL WC, killed it in his 1st full season @ C
Strong playoff (Out performed Kyrou, Rymsha, Ang etc)
Plays Hungry
Still playing very underweight and could fill out
Was damn effective, much more than his EP profile would make you think:

Without PP time, and in a shutdown role- McGregor 5v5 Ppg= .5
Other OHL U19's (non shutdown C's and Ws)
Alex Formenton =.6
Isaac Ratcliife= .58
Ryan McLeod =.54

Some high profile U18's
Dellandrea =.45
Hayton=.56

High Profile U20s
Jonathan Ang .58
Max Jones .58
Givani Smith .52

Please remember that these rankings are generated by members of this forum, probably if you asked for a list from leaf management it would be a lot different (at least I hope so). If they would release one.

Dakota Joshua. Has potential to be our 3rd/4th C for a very long time.
Agreed here. At this point, the players left actually hitting their ceiling has such a minimal chance, I'm going for floor. Joshua to me has the best floor here.

Exactly, or Scott who some think could make Team Canada WJC this season.

Don't have much of an opinion on this one. This is a bunch of guys who are all really long shots. One or two of them will take a step forward and surprise us (like Engvall did) but I have no idea who it is. Magic beans.
