Last time an undrafted dman went to Calgary dev camp then on to our camp and got signed, it worked out pretty well. Let's hope for Myers 2.0.

2 more years of jr then 2 years in the AHL and we will see what he turns into.

Free prospects are always nice.

Free is always nice.

Not much inflation after 3 years either.

the kid is definitely a twig...super skinny apparently at around 160 pounds on a 6' 3" frame but he looked really poised with the puck, good skater and moved the puck well. His offensive upside looks limited but the same was thought about Myers who's situation is very similar to Zamula's. He looked a little shaky when playing vs. the Rangers but these are players several levels up so it's understandable.

The Flyers are deep with young dmen at the NHL with Provorov, Gost, Sanheim, Hagg, Myers, Morin so they can afford to take it very slow with him and give him time to develop. He gets added to their next crop of Hogberg, Kalynuk, Ginning and others that will work their way up and try to break the roster in 2-3 years.

Looks like a good low risk signing....

Yegor Zamula went undrafted this year, but has just been signed by the Flyers to an ELC out of the training camp, so I thought we can make a thread about him.

Are European players only required to go through the draft once before hitting free agency? This was one thing I wasn't entirely clear about. I thought he might still be draft eligible at 18.

There is a window where CHL players can be signed in between the draft and the start of the season. If Philly hadn't signed him then he'd have been back in the 2019 draft.

Gotcha. I was looking around in the CBA, but I couldn't find it there. Thank you.

17 points in 69 games last year

1 point in 10 games to start the season

26 points in his last 22 games.

Anyone watch Calgary who can give some insight on why the turnaround?

It would have been cool to see him with Russia in the WJC but he could very much be there next year...

Top 5 points for D in the WHL for players born in 2000;

1- Ty Smith (#17 in 2018)
2- Calen Addison (#53 in 2018)
3- Yegor Zamula (Undrafted)
4- Bowen Byram (2019 top prospect)
5- Jett Woo (#37 in 2018)

And if you like size? Well, Zamula is the tallest of theses guys at 6’3.

Can he go to AHL next season? I know the rule is after Draft-3 year for players drafted out of CHL, but he was never drafted.

It's incredible that he's pacing for more points as a 18 year old than Myers.

He did he get signed? Shouldn't he be available in the 2019 draft? Sorry for not understanding but I always thought players could only be signed if they were drafted or when a player is not eligible to enter a draft...
