Well my final ranking for this year is complete and I’m pretty happy with how the list has turned out. Goalies are not included due to me being terrible at scouting goalies although I will say I’d probably have Dostal 1st. The rest I really don’t know. After many rankings that were extremely fluid I have finally agreed on my own list. Took quite a while to put together and hope people enjoy! If there are any questions about where a player is ranked feel free to ask and I’ll do my best job explaining. Also any questions about a prospects playstyle is welcome, I have write ups(about a paragraph each) for most of these guys (80% of them about.) didn’t want to make this a longer post than it already is. The mock draft is under my personal top 150

Something to note-I have 0 credibility but these are fun to do. I’ve spent countless hours watching/scouting these guys. I do put a lot of work into them because of my free time (senior in high school)

This is just my opinion, but with the Habs having huge holes at center I could see them going with Kotkaniemi. His stock is rising fast

? In my mock draft I did have Kotkaniemi go to them. I was actually debating on putting Tkachuk there. My mock draft is under the top 150

very strong work, and great job on the list!

I agree with a lot of your list, especially M Samuelsson above Miller, and a number of the USHL kids ranked inside the top 40 where they belong. McLaughlin and O'Brien are going to make some team(s) pretty happy.

Finding out that you are in highschool ruins it for me now, it's like I am talking to my 13 year old son now!!! hahaha..

great job and keep it up, nobody will agree with all of your stuff, but stay strong in your views and beliefs.

I’m turning 18 in 2 months so I’m almost an adult ;) thanks though, McLaughlin and O’Brien are criminally underrated.

Not a big fan of the Avs picking Kupari, to be honest. If Hayton & Veleno are gone, I think they’ll go for Kravstov, Bokk, Noel, or Denisenko. They’ve got the opportunity to go for a home run with their 1st in this draft, and I think that’s what they’ll do if the centers are off the board.

Looks strong, well done. Kotkaniemi at 3 wouldn't surprise me at all. Personal preference for the Leafs at #25 is Dellandrea but can't go wrong with Lundestrom.

Hallander is ranked 24th yet he doesn't go in either of the first two rounds?
I'd be happy with him at 32 as a Sabres fan

Dont like any of the Avs picks in this honestly.

With the organizational depth the Avs acquired last summer and the Duchene trade this season, we have a chance to truly swing for the fences with pick #16 and get a guy with a tonne of upside. Kupari isn't that at all IMO. And with the names still on the board(Kravtsov, Bokk, Miller, Kaut, Noel, etc) I think there's loads of better options.

I dont mind Rampo but I think he makes a lot more sense at #58 then #47, and I dont think the Avs should be taking a goalie in the first 2 rounds this year as I dont think any of them are worthy of such a selection.

Given the way this mock goes I'd prefer the Avs to take Bokk at #16, Johansson at #47, and then Foudy or Fonstad at #58, probably leaning further to the pure upside of Fonstad but would be ok with either.

Great job, love to see people informing themselves and not afraid to have their own perspective! Wouldn't mind reading some of your write-ups on guys you're really interested in.

Appreciate the hard work!

Curious as to why you have Samuelsson ranked 28 but then have the Devils taking him at 17?

Samuelsson is ranked early 20s (but 28 for me) and with the Devils need for defense I could see them going with Samuelsson, he’s also a local boy

Interesting you have the Devils picking a low-impact dman with no puck skills when they have preached skill+speed since Shero and Castron have been doing drafts.

Maybe in the drafts yes but not all of the Devils are speed and skill. Look at recent acquisition Maroon who seemed to fit well with the Devils. but Samuelsson is close to NHL ready and as a prospect one of the best defensively in the class. I do think the Devils go with a defenseman in the 1st round and Samuelsson made the most sense with also growing up in NJ. The whole team doesn’t have to be speed+skill, especially the defense. Not saying they’ll pick Samuelsson for sure or anything but they do need reliable guys and Samuelsson plays a Andy Greene type game or even Larsson. The Devils defense of the future seems to be guys like Severson, Butcher, and Vatanen. None of these guys are great defensively (except Vatanen but he’s just really good not great.) Samuelsson can be the one to help out the defense, Devils don’t have any good defensive prospects either that I see top 4 potential in. They’ll still need a 1D but in the near future
X-Vatanen
Samuelsson-Severson
Butcher-Santini?
Hellickson, Walsh, and Davies are interesting but chances are they don’t become top 4. That’s just my own opinion though, it’s only a mock in who I think they will take

1. Growing up in NJ will have absolutely 0 impact on who they will take.
2. The Devils have Lovejoy, Greene, Santini and Mueller, who all lack puck skill. If they are looking for "safe" players, they have them in spades, unfortunately. The latter two are both 22/23, so they are young af.
3. Walsh and Davies definitely have top-4 upside. Davies just crushed his conference as a sophomore.

Lovejoy, Greene won’t be here long. Santini is flat out not good and Mueller is meh. Walsh and Davies had good seasons and I did acknowledge that but they’re still not safe bets to end up top 4.

Agreed on Ranta and on where the Avs should potentially pick him. I don’t think they should go out of their way to grab Ranta, but I don’t think he would be a bad pick with one of our seconds, either. Personally, I’d use #47 to grab Skarek, if he’s available. Then at #58 I’d go for Foudy, if he’s there. Ultimately I’d love a draft like this (in order of preference):

#16 - Hayton/Veleno/Kravstov/Bokk
#47 - Ylonen/Skarek/Wise
#58 - Foudy/Fonstad/Ranta
