I don't know. But some of these personal examples don't even seem possible. Like growing 8'' in 3 months doesn't seem physically possible. Even 11'' inches in an entire year seems pretty impossible.

A guy from my high school grew from ~5'9 to 6'6 in just over a year from age 16 to 17.

My little brother just grew 7 inches in a year from turning 12 to turning 13, 5ft to 5ft7 in a year...

5ft age 12 and 0 days is ~70th centile.
5ft7 age 13 and 0 days is ~95th centile.

My other younger brother grew about the same over the same age, from ~5ft2 to ~5ft9 then just grew an inch a year for the next 6 years.

They are the three biggest growth spurts I have seen from people close to me.

But 11 inches in a year is crazy!

that would be one of the biggest growth spurts ever recorded

1)16 inches - David Robinson -- Double Growth Spurt - 10 inches - 6 inches - 5'9 his junior year of high school and 6'7 his senior year and then 7'1 in Naval Academy. last spurt was at age 21.
2) 13 inches - Dwight Howard from 5'8″ to 6'9″ in one year.
3) 12 inches - Jeremy Lin 5'3″ to 6'3″ in his junior year.
4) 11 inches - Actor Kevin Costner grew from 5'2″, to 6'1″ from 18-20 yrs. old.
5) 10 inches - Manu Ginobili in late teens. 5'8″ to 6'6″ (in two years time).
6) 10 inches - Dennis Rodman -- From 5′ 9″ to 6′ 7″ around age 20, 1 years time.

My biggest spurt was only 5'' in one year going from 5'3'' to 5'8'' at 17 years old, and i have only grown 2'' since.

I wonder how uncoordinated I would feel if I grew 16inches like David Robinson.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a "that's what she said" comment with all these "growth" spurt examples....:sarcasm:

Anyway..Sanheim in that pic looks like a T ball player....

Corey Pronman released his top 100 prospects for this season. Laughton, Hagg, and Sanheim made it in that order. None of them were in the top 70.

Yea same, I was 5'3" my sophomore year of highschool and was 6'1" at the start of my junior year. That summer was fun...the amount of shoes, clothes and food I went through? lol.

Been there. The summer of growth I went through 3 different wardrobes. Thankfully, I was lanky so my extra large shirts actually fit for awhile. I completely wasted family money on pairs of pants though.
