Although when you think about it, if the Giants hadn't blocked the A's attempted move to San Jose, the Raiders probably would have a stadium project in Oakland by now. And it's a bit unfortunate that the one team out of the 3 (A's, Warriors, Raiders) that seemed to want to stay, is the one that the city had the least interest in keeping. Not surprising given the # of games for each respective sport though.

I feel bad for the people of Oakland - Warriors are gone after this year and Raiders will be within 3-4 years. hell, eventually even the A's are going to get fed up with the Coliseum.

As an aside-is there a worse haircut than Mark Davis'?

People who love to travel to away games are going to make Vegas that game. Cheap airfare and so much else to do. I think the Raiders will have full games but maybe the worst home field advantage in the league. Of course winning will help draw more locals.

Casinos will be throwing tickets at high rollers, ect.

The worst home field in the league will be the Chargers and nothing will really come close to that. The Chargers will be playing five home games at best in a good year. The only way that won't happen is if they draw the AFC and NFC South in the same season. There are a ton of fans of other teams in this city. Broncos and Raiders fans will be filling that place up. If the Chargers do stick in Los Angeles, it's going to be in large part due to ticket sales to opposing fans.

The Raiders had a pretty robust season ticket base from outside of the Bay Area and usually stuff opposing stadiums with fans. I expect that to continue. They will have a bad homefield advantage because that's the nature of things, but they have a lot of their fans within distance to go to games. Naturally there will be a bandwagon element too, because the team is very good. Being the most popular team in their division helps in this regard.

Plus I think a fair amount of Raiders fans in LA will scoop up tix given the somewhat short distance between the two cities.

I really don't think that will matter. It's easier to drive from LA to Oakland than LA to Las Vegas.

The 15 fwy is bumper to bumper during peak times, and that 4 hr estimate to Vegas jumps up to a 6-hr drive.

Unless SWA adds football fares and extra planes for Saturday pm / Sunday am, getting to/from Las Vegas is going to be worse than it's ever been.

I happen to live next to the 15.

Going up on a Saturday afternoon takes no time at all. Starting to head up there at 4 AM on Sunday morning wouldn't be bad either. Going down after the game would be a little ******.

Raiders respond to Oakland nonsense lawsuit by pulling offer to play next year in Oakland

Davis repeatedly declared “all options are open” when asked about various cities, including San Diego, Oakland, Santa Clara, San Antonio and somewhere in Nevada.

Christmas Eve vs Broncos looks very likely to be final NFL game in Oakland
