Saints did similar thing with jairus byrd. first year caphit was around 2M. then it bumped up to 10+M the following years while byrd's level of play fell off the cliff. Saints did lot of similar deals and they almost always bit them in the ass, took them years to cut the dead weight.

it's cheap now but the following year cap hits will be expensive and he can't be cut for 3 years.

That's fine though. Seeing the tweet the way the contract is outlined is pretty awesome. Eric Schaffer did a great job. If he fails he's cut after 3 years and if he succeeds it's a deal worth the money.
