place
To LA: Tyler Toffoli
To NJ: Arthur Kaliyev

Assumes NJ still out of a wild card spot by the deadline. Kaliyev has a ton of potential but looks like he needs a new place to take off at this point (RFA at end of year). Toffoli is a familiar face in LA and brings some much needed scoring for the playoff hunt.

Toffoli would be a decent fill in with Moore & Danault while Arvidsson is out. The issue is there's really no way to move Kaliyev at 900k for Toffoli at 4.2 mill.

An upgrade on goal would be nice, but that's a very thin market that's overpriced right now.

Why would NJ do this? Toffoli should net a 1st minimum from a contender if he is traded. Kaliyev’s trade value is the lowest it has ever been and all reports are saying that Blake is looking to sell low on him for a depth player with grit. You guys can probably get him for Brendan Smith and Blake will throw in an extra 5th for good measure.

When was the last time a 76 year old was traded for a 20 year old straight up?
The Kings are contender at all, there is not reason to do that

His cap hit isn't 4.2M at the dead line. It's pro rated. It's be about 1M in cap for LA.

Kings have plenty of space with RV, Grundstrom and Pheonix on LTIR.

Kayilev is definitely the type of player Devils should take a flyer on if they can.

Just not sure what they have to offer besides Smith, Miller, or Nosek, if that rumor about wanting someone with an edge is true. Would be dumb for Kings to give him up for those guys though.

Where do Kings fans stand on Turcotte?

Would he be available at all in a trade?
I say yes, but depending. Probably no deal that would make sense one for one, but Turcotte as part of a package to address a need I would be ok with.
