Our development staff does a good job of developing d-men who actually have some modicum of talent. So hopefully Meehan has a smidge! It's why I'm so high on a lot of the defenders drafted over the last 3 drafts or so. Yes, it would be nice to have a dynamic puck mover, but right now my primary concern is to find defensemen who can play defense and make good first passes out of the zone. If the Helge Grans can turn into that dynamic PP quarterback, perfect. If Meehan can be an AMART type who takes less big hits, I'd be ecstatic.
