I think he wanted to be aggressive for sure but he didn't seem to know what to do once he got into Hagel's face. He should stick to scoring goals I suppose.

Laine hit Hagel's helmet and got an ouchie in his hand. After that he instantly lost the will to fight. That's what happens when you're not a seasoned fighter.
